In the aloha spirit that Duke Kahanamoku, "The Father of Surfing," introduced surfing to others, AccesSurf will be the leader in recreation and leisure opportunities in the beach environment for people with disabilities through providing therapeutic instruction for the advancement of adaptive surfing and ocean recreation throughout the state of Hawaii and worldwide for generations to come. {+}

Kanu Hawaii is an organization that believes it is very risky to simply rely on “imports and visitor dollars”; that it is more valuable to give a community a sense of self-reliance through the sustainability of it’s own local community. They are a movement driven by a deep love for Hawaii and it’s unique life-style. Instead of being completely dependent on the mainland Kanu Hawaii wants to provide better paying jobs for anyone who works hard by promoting entrepreneurship, significant investments in human capital and developing industries that not only provide well paying jobs but also benefit their communities and the environment. {+}
